We didn't take lots of pictures in Kuwait, so there are no pictures of the 'browns' on the golf course - (greens made of sand with oil added - hey, oil was cheap!). No pictures of the money market where the shop windows had piles of different currencies in the windows. We also missed the time when we went to the beach up near the Saudi border and it was covered from edge to edge with crabs.

I think we were obviously in a photographic lull during this period when the highlight of our week was Inspector Morse on a Monday night. Maybe it was the heat - 50 degrees centigrade in the shade in the summer.

Kuwait Harbour Kuwait harbour - old style dhows with a view of the modern city behind. Safat tower Safat tower from the souk - streets with market stalls and small shops.
Colin sitting on a jetty looking back at the beach which was five minutes walk from the apartments where we lived. Col sitting on jetty No - we didn't swim here - you can see the rubbish washed up by the sea. Max, our dog, is in the foreground. Rubbish on the beach
The souk A better view of the souk. Camel line The camel lines at the camel races.
Kes being fed A couple of pictures of Kes the kestrel. We bought him in the animal souk - for about eight pounds. I didn't really want a bird to look after but we felt sorry for him. We never flew him outside but he would fly to us in the flat. We sometimes let him fly around loose - the curtains were streaky anyway. It was really amusing to be sitting watching TV and a kestrel walks around the corner and jumps on the coffee table. Kes, the Kestrel.
