Pascanel

I, like most girls always wanted to ride and, unfortunately for Colin, it didn't stop when boys came on the horizon. It has lasted through numerous falls and I suppose will continue until I cannot sit on a horse anymore. Like Colin I have encouraged everyone to ride and all the family have tried but I am the only one who rides now.

The photos below only cover our horses in South Africa. There is a picture of Gordon, the horse I have now and one of Farley. He belonged to Mrs Winter in Kenya and I leased him for a time. However, I have not included any pictures of my first horse, Breeze, who should have been in dog tins. Nor Patineur, my own horse in Kenya.

At London Lane we put in an arena and made up jumps to begin with using flowerpots and old gates. Colin's horse, Bar One, was fine as long as you did everything right. Le Mans, the middle picture could jump well but Pascanel was born to jump. Unfortunately I was not. He was also 'sharp' which meant he bucked and spooked a lot.

Sue, Pas on x country First cross country on Pas - you can see how far back he took off from the dust.
The other pic is a young me jumping Farley. I found it easier then and Farley was an experienced showjumper - it helps.

Nycky, my friend, is a very talented rider. She took Pas showjumping one summer and this is his first show with her.
The other pic is her jumping our new young horse Larry.

Sue, Gordon - dressage Now I do dressage on Gordon, a really super horse. When I bought him the lady said 'you can drop your mobile phone, get off and pick it up with him.' and she was right.
